How to Replace a Watch Band
You can make the change yourself by following these steps:
- Hold the watch horizontally with the case back facing you.
- Insert a spring bar tool (you can purchase one from Watch Bandit if you don't have one) in between the strap and the lug. This will push in on the spring bar and compress it.
- Apply pressure downward. Use a gentle touch and continue pushing until the bar pops off.
- Turn the watch, so that the other side is facing up and repeat steps one and two to detach the spring bar. Then, do the same on the other end of the case.
- Place your watch on top of the leather strap and position it.
- Gently push the spring bars back into place over top of the strap. Doing the replacement this way instead of trying to thread the strap through with the spring bar already on can help to prevent scratching.
