Huckleberry & Co. Brings Back Bauhaus

The Bauhaus was a school of design that operated from 1919 to 1933 in Weimar, Germany. Known for emphasizing an approach to design that combined a simplistic form perfectly suited to its function, the Bauhaus went on to become associated with minimalist modern design. Now, one watch company, Huckleberry & Co., is drawing inspiration from the Bauhaus for a new line of sophisticated, yet simple timepieces.

The name of the new timepiece being introduced by Huckleberry & Co. is the Archibald. Some features of the watch include:

– Sans Serif typeface that gives the watch a vintage, minimalist look

– Thin, understated bezel

– 40mm diameter smooth case available with rose gold or silver finish

– Japanese Miyota 9132 automatic movement

– Hand-winding mechanism to conserve battery power if desired

– 24-hour sub-dial on the face

– Power reserve dial for monitoring battery life

– Date display window

– Three-hand motion

– Premium leather straps

– Water-resistance up to 5 ATM

– Sapphire crystal glass face that resists scratching

Each watch is handcrafted to ensure quality. The timepiece has a skeleton case back.

In order to introduce their Bauhaus-inspired watch line, Huckleberry & Co. is raising funds through Kickstarter. At the time that this profile was written, the campaign had raised more than $52,000 against a goal of just $14,000, so the watches are guaranteed to reach the market. With 8 days left in the campaign, there were still some perks available for purchase.
