James McCabe Watches: A Piece of Watch History

In the world of modern horology, new brands are constantly entering the market, and many of these companies cause instant stirs in the market. While keeping up with the trends is exciting, one can never lose sight of timekeeping’s past, and one brand is committed to keeping it alive. That watch company is James McCabe, a brand dedicated to keeping to the custom of traditional artisan watchmaking.

James McCabe was inspired by the legendary watchmaker James McCabe. In 1775, the Irish immigrant opened a shop on Fleet Street in London and began making and selling watches. His watchmaking house, the House of McCabe produced more than 50,000 watches and 7,000 clocks while in operation, and James McCabe’s designs were worn by Lord Horatio Nelson, George Washington and many other prominent men of the period.

While their watches have distinctive, modern appeal, James McCabe produces watches with the same careful approach as the historic watchmaker whose name the company bears. The company currently produces five signature watches: The traditional London, The Lurgan chronograph, The Victory skeleton dial, The Belfast skeleton dial and the Heritage chronograph. Each of the styles is offered in a number of different finishes and dial colors, and most designs come with either a leather strap or metal bracelet.

At present, the entire James McCabe watch collection can be purchased at the official James McCabe store. The watches range in price from £179 to £330 and can be shipped to any location in the world.
