McDowell Time Sonoma Watch: Inspired by a Passion for Life and Love

Based in Rockville, Maryland, McDowell Time is a company that takes its inspiration from one of its most endearing passions–racing. Making the company stand out from other watch companies is its ability to accurately represent the very inspiration for its timepieces in each and every one, incorporating the speed that racecars exhibit into its precise timepieces that seem to embody the sleek cars that it loves so much. Not only was the name of the new Sonoma watch inspired by the Sonoma Raceway in California, but Sonoma was also the place where the creator proposed to his wife, making it a very special location that translates into a very special design.

The Sonoma watch is a striking, racetrack-inspired design that is available in two options, 316L stainless steel with either a black finish or a brushed finish, depending on your preference. The 39-millimeter encasement houses sub-dials that boast ultra bright C3 Super-LumiNova numbers inside of a domed sapphire crystal. This type of crystal is resistant to scratches and has been given an anti-reflective coating. Inside of the watch is a Seiko VK63 meca-quartz movement with a water resistance level of 10 ATM. Finishing off the timeless look is a carbon fiber leather strap that attaches by quick release pins.

McDowell Time watches have been revving up their engines to launch themselves into a Kickstarter campaign. Starting today, April 11th, you can get your own Sonoma watch by making a minimum pledge of $219. From there, you can enjoy free shipping to the United States.
