Straton Watch Co. Vintage Driver Chrono Watch Launches on Kickstarter

What do you get when cross a vintage car with a chronograph timepiece? It’s not a riddle! The answer is the Straton Watch Co. Vintage Driver Chrono Watch, a new watch concept that is causing a major stir on Kickstarter.

The Straton Watch Co. Vintage Driver Chrono Watch is a timepiece inspired by the 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT. The simplistic dial of the timepiece was patterned after the Veglia Borleti rachometer featured in the car with two digit hour markers and a simplistic second track paired with stout stick markers. The dial has a distinctive vintage vibe that brings to mind timepiece designs of the 1970s.

Although the look of the Straton Watch Co. Vintage Driver Chrono Watch can be described as retro, what drives the watch is incredibly modern. The timepiece features the Seiko Mecha-Quartz Movement that is as accurate as a quartz watch but features conventional mechanical chronograph movement. High quality materials like 316L surgical grade stainless steel, sapphire crystal and NATO straps finish the design.

So far, the Straton Watch Co. Vintage Driver Chrono Watch campaign on Kickstarter has been a smashing success. When this blog post was written, the drive had already made nearly $80,000 against a goal of $15,501, and there are still 21 days remaining until the campaign will close on 4 September 2015. Those who wish to be the first to own one of these handsome chronograph watches still have time to take advantage of the reduced campaign prices and contribute to the campaign.
