The sea has captivated mankind since the dawn of time, and over the centuries, we have developed vessels that allow us to explore its waters. In the modern age, shipbuilding has become an art form with designers creating impressive boats that can safely navigate the open ocean. One watch brand is now taking a similar approach to the design of watches with the Gozzo Classic Boat timepiece.
Italian watchmaker Gozzo Sorrentino has based the design of their Gozzo Classic Boat timepiece on the gozzo boat, which is used to sail the Mediterranean. The watch has a very distinctive rounded case that echoes the contours of the ship, and its face is made out of genuine wood just like the hull of the gozzo boat. The natural grain of the wood gives the chronograph watch distinctive character, and its beauty is enhanced by the luxurious yellow gold tone of the cases. Strap options include genuine leather and nylon NATO straps. The watch is engineered for easy strap changes, so men can change the look of the timepiece to suit any occasion.
To introduce the Gozzo Boat Watch to the market, Gozzo Sorrentino is offering a Kickstarter campaign. The brand had an initial funding goal of $1694 and at the time this piece was written had already surpassed it, having raised more than $3000 in pledges. With 23 days to go, there is still plenty of time for those who wish to own the new timepiece to make a pledge and receive one of the chronograph watches. The timepieces are expected to be delivered in September 2016.
