The Preciso Watch: Making Watches Slimmer & More Affordable

When it comes to men’s timepieces, many designers take a bigger is better approach. Their watches end up being large, substantial, weighty accessories. And while that’s impressive, it isn’t always the right look for the modern gentleman, and it can be less than comfortable during the day. In addition to big sizes, many of the top designers today charge big prices for their watches, putting them out of reach for most men. Preciso is a brand hoping to make men’s watches smaller–both in size and in terms of their price tags.

Preciso is a timepiece manufacturer based in Hong Kong. Their first timepiece, the Preciso Super Thin Classic Watch is meant to be a slimmer alternative to the watches on the market today. The case is made out of 316L stainless steel and is remarkably thin at only 6.65 millimeters, yet it’s built tough to hold up to daily wear. The watch’s price point of under $200 US makes it an affordable alternative to luxury timepieces; however, the design is every bit as stylish.

The Preciso Super Thin Classic Watch is heading into production thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign that closed out on November 29, 2015. The campaign launched on October 27, 2015, and was fully funded by November 25, 2015. All in all, Preciso managed to raise $18,790 AUD from more than 90 backers. The watches are expected to ship in February 2016. Those who missed out on the campaign can email Preciso to order a timepiece.
