Many men today appreciate the style of vintage watches from the 1940s and 50s, but finding one that is affordably priced and reliable can be challenging. An up and coming watch brand called VAPAUS seeks to satisfy the needs of men with vintage style sensibilities with their new watches inspired by retro designs.
To get that retro chic appeal, the VAPAUS watch has a domed high arched sapphire crystal and a round 316L stainless steel case. The sapphire crystal has been finished with an anti-reflective coating that eliminates the glare that can make it hard to read authentic retro watches. In keeping wit the retro look, the dials feature a sunburst design with minimal markings. The brand offers four dial colors. For the movement, VAPAUS has chosen the Sellita SW215-1, a hand-wound movement that is made in Switzerland and known for its reliability. Users will have their choice of traditional alpha hands or wider paddle hands, and the watch comes with a French calf leather strap.
The VAPAUS watch is slated to hit the market any time now and is likely to begin with a Kickstarter campaign; however, there has been no official word yet as to when orders will begin to be taken or when pledges will start to be accepted. The brand has revealed that the watches will be available for an early bird price of $795.
