Squale Watches

Watchbandit is an official retailer for Squale watches in Germany for many years already. Born in Switzerland, each Squale watch is made with traditional Swiss watchmaking processes and is crafted with only the highest quality parts. Inspired by the passion and love of diving and the sea in general, Squale was born in hopes of creating professional dive watches with a more nautical vibe that embodied everything the founder, Charles von Büren, loved about the ocean.

History and origins of Squale Watches

Squale was specialized in manufacturing dive watch cases, as one of the largest case producers of the 1960s and 1970s. During this time, outsourcing was a common practice among all Swiss watch brands and they used an extensive network of small companies that were specialized in manufacturing specific components, such as Squale. While this dates back to 1959, the history of Squale actually goes back to 1948, when Charles Von Buren took an interest in diving and began designing and crafting high end dive watch cases in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

One of the first examples was the characteristic Von-Buren case, used on the 50 Atmos divers. Because of its fluid angles it was not only beautiful but also highly ergonomic. Its downward lugs wrap around the wrist and the crown does not press into the wrist due its 4 o’ clock position.

Each case is made from sturdy, durable 316L stainless steel and comes with a variety of different colored bezels to highlight them. Colors include black, blue, yellow, orange, and split case colors to choose from. The watches run on reliable Swiss Sellita automatic movements that keep the time with reliable precision and are completed by straps of your choice, including tropic rubber, metal mesh and genuine leather, letting you accessorize the way you like.
