Description
About this watch
Robust. The deep black color is achieved through material choice rather than surface coating like DLC or PVD, which ensures that your watch will always stay black. With a hardness that surpasses that of any traditional metal used in watchmaking, Zirconium Oxide ceramic is a scratch-proof material that will never show any signs of wear or aging. Being the most exposed components of a watch case, both bezel and crown are made of this high-tech ceramic.
Luxurious. Hand-finished with undiluted passion, the Essence is crafted with an execution only found in high-end timepieces. The movement’s accuracy has been tested and certified by COSC, the official Swiss Testing Institute for Swiss Chronometer.
Comfortable. Our patented Case Suspension System and carbon fiber composite clasp with patented Fine Adjustment System adapt to your wrist movements and daily adventures.
Bold. Above a complex construction lies an elaborate case with a feather-light Carbon Composite case with titanium container, which was entirely developed in-house.
Yours. You don’t have to sit in the lap of luxury to put something luxurious on your wrist. Our direct-to-consumer approach means you’ll get high quality watches at a fraction of the cost of any comparable Swiss timepiece.
FORMEX 1.0: 1999 – 2015
With a strong emphasis on comfort, functionality and a very unique design, the founders of Formex took to the drawing boards in 1998. By the end of 1999, the first FORMEX watch was born and opened the door for a new generation of timepieces. Inspired by the engineering and mechanics of high-performance racing cars and bikes, it featured the brand’s signature patented Case Suspension System, which led to a more robust and comfortable watch. The brand name is a combination of the two French words “forme extrème”, extreme shape. In the following decade, FORMEX launched various collections of modern timepieces and became widely recognized among aficionados of extraordinarily designed sports watches.
FORMEX 2.0: 2016 – going forward
In October 2016, FORMEX completely opted out of brick and mortar sales, going down the direct and online-only route. Being detached from any retailer and selling exclusively on the Online Shop and a few selected online shops, such as WatchBandit, FORMEX is no longer bound to the conventional, exorbitant sales margins applied in the watch industry and are now in direct contact with its customer in all stages of buying and owning a watch. The direct to consumer model allows FORMEX to create exactly the consumer experience we want our customers to have, and gives the customers all the attention they deserve before and after having bought a watch. The new FORMEX models are infused with a dedication for Speed, Precision, Mechanics and Adrenaline – Passions shared with a team of young athletes pursuing their dream to be the best at what they do.
