In the world of watchmaking, forging new paths in materials is both an art and a science. The Squale T-183
Squale has decided to introduce carbon for the case of this T183 model, a highly resistant and extremely light material.
Forged carbon is a type of carbon fiber that is incredibly strong, yet light. The term “forged” is derived from the manufacturing process: small fragments of carbon fiber are placed in molds together with resin, then compressed and “forged” at high temperature. The mottled effect is a unique characteristic resulting from this process.
Every case begins life as a single block of forged carbon, from which individual cubes are carved. Through a process using high-precision machinery, a single case is machined from each of the cubes, removing the material until the final shape is obtained.
These semi-finished carbon pieces are then encased in a steel housing that guarantees durability and excellent water resistance.
With the T183 Forged Carbon water resistance up to 60 ATM or 600 meters is guaranteed by an internal cylindrical 316L steel case, onto which the sapphire glass with A/R coating is laid and sealed with a steel screw case back. This internal case, containing the Sellita SW 200 movement – 1 Elaboré, is then inserted by means of pressure into the semi-finished carbon piece, designed with the utmost precision for a perfect fit.

Squale introduces the new Squale 60 ATM T-183 Forged Carbon available with Orange or Blue details. In this hands-on review
The new Squale Luminoso Arancia PVD is the summer time-piece for 2021, even though it’s almost completely black. What brings
Squale has decided to introduce carbon for the case of this T183 model, a highly resistant and extremely light material. The case (42mm) is composed of alternating layers of carbon fiber and fiberglass. Carbon is naturally black (or dark gray) while the combination of black and colored fiberglass highlights the beauty of the case. Water-resistance is guaranteed up to 60 Atm or 600 meters. The metal components (bezel, screw-down crown, and caseback) are coated in DLC (diamond-like carbon), which is more scratch-resistant than PVD. The bezel insert (also black) is made of ceramic and the triangle at 12 o’clock emits a blue glow in the dark. An important feature of the T-183 is the Super-LumiNova®, featured both on the indices (applied on the dial) and on the hands, which guarantees perfect legibility even under extreme conditions. The movement is the Swiss Made Sellita SW200 Elaboré The strap is made using innovative water and wear-resistant material. This watch is part of the high-end Squale collections.
