BOLDR watches sees itself as the “outfitter brand for the urban adventurers of the world”. They offer gear and watches and are based in Singapore and Malaysia, run by co-founders Travis Tan, Leon Leong, and Isa Ghani. In the following Blog-post we’d like to introduce the BOLDR watch models that we offer at WatchBandit as authorized dealer.
BOLDR Expedition
In November 2017 BOLDR launched their Kickstarter Campaign with their first watch: The Expedition Field Watch. A well tested and tough tactical timepiece with an automatic Swiss movement (Sellita SW200-1), a multi-function rotating inner bezel, dual screw-down crowns, 200 meters water resistance, with a sapphire glass and see-through caseback with anti-reflective coating. Excellent luminescent Swiss SuperLuminova helps to read the watch in the dark (like on all models). It’s available in 5 colors (from which some are sold out already) and comes with a canvas strap with calf leather lining and brass eyelets. The Expedition is a stylish time piece with a tough touch, looking for adventure. It fits more a casual than an elegant style. So whether for work or just style, the Expedition is ready to join your journey. The watch was an immediate success and BOLDR decided to make more watch collections.
BOLDR Voyager
More and more dive watches made of bronze metal appeared on the market and BOLDR decided do develop its own CuSn8 bronze diver; The Voyager was born. Like many others, it’s inspired by the historic frogman dive watches with a luminous sandwich dial and big numbers at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock position (read more about the history of combat divers watches here). The Voyager has a sleek and modern case design, which is different to many historical inspired timepieces that come in big case form and diameter. Furthermore it has a dive-functional 120-click unidirectional bezel, complemented by a double domed lens with Anti-Reflective coating, which makes the Voyager a perfect tool watch for diving, swimming or daily leisure. The case will develop a beautiful and individual patina over the time as a natural reaction of bronze (how to speed up or remove the patina you find out here).
BOLDR Odyssee
With the Odyssey BOLDR went a step further: They combined their bronze with a stronger case design and a meteorite dial. But that’s not enough: The Odyssey is also available with blue, red and green colored carbon dials. Featuring an extremely robust case meant for actual diving, the Odyssey can be treated rough with an ultra-tough high-resistance 6-screw caseback and a screw-down crown with triple lock mechanism, rated for up to 500 meters water resistance. A resilient NH35A Japanese Automatic movement by Seiko and special helium escape valve also makes sure your watch stays strong under any pressure.
BOLDR Globetrotter GMT
The Globetrotter GMT is a tough GMT dive watch that takes the iconic angular BOLDR design a step further. Built for any exploration, the Globetrotter’s GMT function tracks two timezones. Colored ceramic 24h bezels indicate day- and night time with black/blue or blue/red. The ceramic bezel on the models Meteoblue and Meteoblack are engraved with the names of major cities to track their time zone. The time zone is adjusted quickly thanks to the Swiss ETA 2893-2 automatic movement with its independent adjustable GMT-hand. With a water resistance of 300 meters, the Globetrotter GMT feels home in the skies and deep waters.
The models Meteoblue and Meteoblack feature a stunning meteorite dial, made from fragments of the Muonionalusta Meteorite, which was discovered north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden and is roughly about 4 billion years old. The meteorite dial is composed of iron, nickel, germanium, gallium and iridium. It’s a pretty rare piece of metal, and it features the famous Widmanstätten pattern which gives it that distinctive look.
