Finn Watches: Irish Sensibility Meets Swiss Functionality

The landscapes of Ireland have inspired countless writers, poets, playwrights, artists and musicians with their rolling hills and stunning stretches of shoreline. Now, the beautiful terrain of the island nation has inspired a line of timepieces that is unlike anything to be released on the market before. That watch is the Finn, and it’s already begun to cause a buzz among watch aficionados.

The first thing that one notices when gazing upon the Finn Watch is its unique stainless steel case. Instead of a circle, a rectangle or a tonneau, this timepiece has a striking hexagonal shape. The inspiration for the uniquely proportioned case comes from Giant’s Causeway, an outcropping of hexagonal rocks found along the North Coast of Ireland. The hexagonal shape is echoed on the dial of the watch, and the green second hand is a nod to the Emerald Isle. Celtic-inspired characters are used for the hour markers and brand logo. Powering the watch are reliable Swiss quartz movement systems.

Finn Watches is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds necessary to bring their first timepiece to consumers. The brand has set a funding goal of $32,898 and with 31 days to go at the time this profile was written had already earned more than $19,000 in pledges. With the buzz surrounding Finn watches, it seems the micro brand is on pace to have their campaign fully funded and to begin producing their watches for shipping in December 2016.
