NOMOS Glashütte – Club Campus Strap Guide

The NOMOS Club Campus is the entry-level watch from Glashütte, but it seems already on its way to replace the Bauhaus-style classic NOMOS Tangente from its first place of the most sold watch. At least the social media and NOMOS Facebook groups make you believe it; The NOMOS Glashütte Club Campus is often shared, discussed, and introduced as “my first NOMOS” watch. Another reason that speaks for the Club Campus is its versatility; It’s a true strap-monster and that’s why we’d like to show you the best strap combinations for your NOMOS Club Campus in our Strap-Guide.

It clearly owes its popularity to its design: Not as classy and minimalistic as the NOMOS Tangente, but yet sporty, clear, and fresh. The Club Campus has a dial, which is rather unusual for modern watches, the so called “California-Dial”; The dial face consists of half Roman and half Arabic numerals. During the 1930s the dial was used for Kampfschwimmer (combat diver) dive watches for better readability underwater, for example in early Rolexes, Panerai, Glycine watches. The Roman numerals break with the usual plain NOMOS design and furthermore provide a clear and visible point of difference to the other Club models. Additionally, the hands and hour markers are now filled with Super-LumiNova and the neon orange seconds hand (that symbolizes that it contains the in-house caliber) provides another pop of color.

Sportive: NATO Strap

The versatility of the Club Campus allows it to be worn with every kind of NATO strap. Which strap size does my NOMOS Club Campus need?

The NOMOS Glashütte Club Campus lug width can vary from 18 to 20 mm. The Club Campus 38 Ref.735 has a lug width of 20mm, which is the most common lug width for watches larger than 36mm in diameter. How do I change the bracelet or strap on my NOMOS?

To change the bracelet of your NOMOS watch, you’ll need a spring bar tool with a 1 mm fork or pin, that fits in the openings of the bracelet/holed lugs, for example, the Bergeon 6767 spring bar tool.
